In order to promote the computer literacy of African children and to interest young girls in the digital professions, the eSkills4Girls and Africa community Code Week supports a series of activities during the month of October. For example, Cameroon Genius Centers, a partner of the organization, is launching a competition in the creation of projects. The chosen theme is ecology.

Conditions of the competition

  1. Groups of 2 to 3 persons composed of at least 2 girls.
  2. All members of the group must be resident in Cameroon.
  3. Each member of the group must be at most 15 years old and at least 7 years old.
  4. The project must be done under scratch 2.0
  5. The deadline for submission of projects is Saturday, October 27, 23h GMT. The results will be announced on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 on the Genius Centers website www.geniuscenters.com.

Prize to win

  • For the top 10 groups, a robotic kit that will allow the team to improve their project by interacting with electronic components.
  • For the top 10 groups, a pass at #DemoKids 2019, and an opportunity to present their project and win a trophy
  • For all participants, the opportunity to participate in another competition to take place in November with the same project and win other robots.
  • For all participants, new friends, new acquaintances, new friends and new challenges.
